Headaches are one of the most common health grievances of students, adults and even children, Headaches are very common and usually do not point to a serious illness. But even a mild headache can disrupt your daily activities

Types of Headaches
Vascular: Vascular headaches are headaches caused by the swelling or irritation of blood vessels. They include migraines (headaches that involve severe pain, nausea and blurred vision), toxic headaches (headaches that are produced by a fever or from over-exposure to toxic chemicals, including alcohol),

Myogenic: Myogenic headaches are caused when the muscles in the head and neck tighten, causing pain. A tension headache, the most common kind of headache, falls under the Myogenic category. These can either be episodic (coming on every once in a while) or chronic (occurring with frequency).

Sinus Headache
How many times have you heard of a person complaining of a sinus headache? Although they may actually be suffering from this type of headache, chances are that it is another kind of headache-most likely a migraine.

Typical Sinus Symptoms
The typical symptoms for a sinus-type headache are pain in the back of the forehead, cheeks and around the eyes. The pain is usually worse first thing in the morning and it can range from a mild discomfort to extremely severe. Some other symptoms that may also occur when you are experiencing a sinus headache include, but are not limited to, green or yellow nasal discharge, a stuffy nose, fever, tiredness, and possibly swollen lymph nodes.

Headache Causes and Treatment
Everyone gets a headache from time to time. Some get them more often than others do. There are several different types of headache and there are many factors that can trigger the onset of a headache. Some medications even list "headache" as a side affect. Some headaches can be the side affects of a more serious medical problem.

There are many different causes of the common headache. These causes include, but are not limited to, meningitis, glaucoma, temporal arteritis and brain tumor. There are very few illnesses that never show headache as a symptom.

There are several different types of headache; however, there are four main types. These types are vascular, tension, traction and inflammatory. Each type of headache has a distinct pain and reactions can vary from person to person.

Treatment of Headaches

Headaches that are not symptomatic of an underlying condition can usually be treated with over the counter painkillers. However, frequent and prolonged use of this kind of medication is not recommended and can actually lead to Rebound Headaches (headaches caused by withdrawal from medication). Caffeine and certain vitamins – Magnesium, Vitamin B2 – are also sometimes recommended.
